Once again the long flights through Johannesburg to Llilongwe, Malawi were followed by a half-day van ride along Lake Malawi to Mangochi, where we were met by ministry leaders eager to receive their newly produced copies of God’s Word in the Yao language. On the return ride to Llilongwe, we likewise were surrounded by believers and even local media, including representatives from many churches and from the office of the President to say thank-you that the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation is now available in the Chewa language. These two languages represent some 14.4 million people, a majority of whom depend on oral means rather than written text to conduct their daily lives. It only makes sense to them that a God who cares about them would provide His eternal words to them in a spoken form.
DNA Global Network was grateful to be able to partner with Davar Partners International, the Bible Society of Malawi, and several local and international mission ministries to help make access to the spoken Word of God accessible to the people of Malawi.
We thank each of you for joining hands with us in prayer, in sacrificial giving, and for serving as volunteers in many ways to make this kind of celebration possible.
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11
